American Ebola fear spreads from CNN.
My point is simple emergency room numbers have increases for many reasons. From increases in general use on a yearly basis to increases caused by the Enterovirus 68 in over 41 states. Now add to it special precautions patients like Ebola patients, even in small numbers, when few hospitals have isolation rooms that offer reverse flow rooms and adequate staff to spend the time needed to clean an emergency rooms. Even those without a diagnose Ebola virus their monitoring and the time spent dressing and underdressing takes times and creates huge amounts of medical waste. Not that ER's haven't seen patients of this nature before but isolation patients take time and suspected Ebola patients and their waste require some special handling.
